A word about the Flying Fuzz II demos:

When the COVID-19 pandemic hit the US, I had more time to write and record these demos out to send to my bandmates as we waited for the okay to start playing together again. I ended up recording well over an hour of original music by myself. Most songs were written by me, or with Noah, Cam, etc...

At that point before quarantine, only a few songs were written for the album, and we had finally solidified our new lineup, with Cam back in the band playing Rhythm Guitar, and Albert now playing bass with us at live concerts.

Figuring that Flying Fuzz II would be released by the end of that year, I took it upon myself to release this demos album to give our following some new material to look forward to. As lockdown went on, though, I recorded more songs, adding them post-release to the Bandcamp, without updating them on streaming services because I didn't want to lose the statistics we had. All the while the official studio album continued to be delayed for a multitude of reasons over the course of 2020.

I have a love/hate relationship with this demos album a lot. Mostly in part because the release of these recordings predates the album by over a year now. A lot of people have heard these versions and may never hear them fully realized when the album comes out. They are not the finished product. These were recorded in Audacity, with my iPhone as a drum mic and every other instrument including vocals being recorded through my direct input on my Boss Katana.

A lot of these vocal takes are god awful, there are numerous mistakes on every instrument throughout, the mixes are crazy inconsistent with a lack of backing rhythm guitar missing in the early demos and poor level mixing, leaving a lot unheard. They have never been a representation of the full lineup's musical ability, nor are they accurate to our current incarnation of the band. Despite this, I am still immensely proud of the work I put into writing all of these songs. It is a real testament to my personal growth as a musician and songwriter since mid-high school.

If you decide to listen through this album, I beg you to seek the official studio recordings of these tunes to hear how they always should have sounded.
